Impulse St. Louis Cardinals Game

One thing has been true since Amity and I met, and that is our mutual love for baseball.  Amity has always loved her St. Louis Cardinals.  I have become fond of them.  We have been to so many of their games now that I have been to more Cardinals games than my beloved Yankees.  I am okay with this, as they are in separate leagues and who doesn’t love players like Pujols, Yadi, Ozzie and many others.  It’s an easy team to be a fan of.  Another thing that is true about us is that we love to do things; almost to the point of fault.  We have been going non-stop for the past couple months.  Every weekend has been planned our weeks or months in advance.  This weekend we had nothing going on and initially planned to chill at home.  YEAH RIGHT!!! Just when we thought we were getting comfortable, the idea of doing a day trip to St. Louis for a Cards game came into focus.  Then we found tickets for $15.  Good thing it’s just a day trip!

The Cardinals were hosting the Reds for the weekend.  We hopped in our car and were on the road again for STL.  This drive has become so quick that we don’t mind it at all.  It is also easy to be in the car when you know you are going to enjoy the greatest show on earth.  Showing up to the stadium, we were able to find good parking right away.  Walking into Busch Stadium is a fun experience.  They have such a strong fan base.  Even in a year like this, where they suck, they still pack the stadium and bring great energy to the game.  We found ourselves sitting in the bleachers in right center.  Thanks to the Gametime App we scored solid seats for $15!!!

One of the nice elements of this game, was that we really didn’t care about the game.  This makes for a really fun stadium experience.  We were able to walk around the ballpark and check out the different areas.  I got the chance to look through the camera in an upper deck area.  I really didn’t expect the operator to actually let me, but he was cool with it.   We continued to walk around the stadium for a while.  Busch is a really nice and modernized stadium.  This made for a fun adventure. I personally loved getting to meet Bobble Head Yadi!

Amity relived her memories of trying to find a place to watch the World Series (lucky girl has been to the world series twice!).  She once went to the World Series with her sister, Autumn.  They had standing room only tickets, and ended up having to watch most of the game with a structure beam impeding their view.  We scouted out what we thought was going to be our best food option for the night.  We ended up finding a place that did a build your own nacho bar.  It was bomb!

We headed back to our seats for the remainder of the game.  It was a beautiful and sunny day out.  We love that the humidity has been on the dryer side of things to start the summer.  No complaints coming from this guy!  With a couple of cold beers, baseball and a beautiful woman next to me. I couldn’t be in a better place.  It was slightly hot, which brought out some great people watching. Tanning at a baseball game is an absolute must!! Hahaha!!!

The Cardinals ended up getting smoked by the Reds 8-4.  This is sizing up to the be the story of their season.  We still had fun!!!  Back into the car we go. Before heading home we made a quick pit stop at Ted Drew’s Custard. This is a St. Louis staple in the ice cream/frozen custard game!! So bomb, and perfect for such a hot day.  Headed out to our new rental in Rolla (pretty much the same place as St. James, but slightly closer to Amity’s clinic).  We had to move recently, as Amity renewed her contract at her clinic and our old rental was not available.  This means a couple more months here in MO! I think we will find more ways to have fun!!!
